Announcing Weatherford Link 2.2 – Released July 18, 2025

We are excited to announce the release of Weatherford Link 2.2, a major upgrade built to meet the rigorous demands of enterprise environments!

Weatherford Link v2.2 is now available for download from the Weatherford CygNet Download Site. With powerful enhancements to performance, data publishing, and system integration, this release marks a significant step forward in delivering scalable, secure, and reliable MQTT data workflows. This release represents a major leap in the evolution of Weatherford Link. Whether you're managing a single connected device or orchestrating data across global operations, Weatherford Link 2.2 delivers the enterprise-grade performance and reliability needed to scale with confidence. 

Key Highlights in Link v2.2

Enhanced Data Publishing Capabilities

• Publish up to two million current values across all CVS endpoints.
• Point status/state included with real-time and historical data.

Expanded Endpoint Support and Statistics

• New <collectEndpointStatistics> property for polling statistics.
• Support for publishing additional CygNet data groups like optimization status and setpoints.

Improved Configuration Flexibility

• New <enableSubscriptions> option allows opting out of command topic subscriptions (default = true).
• <allowCommands> now defaults to false for Provider endpoints; must be enabled explicitly.

Runtime and Setup Enhancements

• .NET 8 runtime is included in the installer bundle.
• New sample configuration files added to the online help.

Fixes and Reliability Improvements

• Points missing UDC or Facility ID now skipped with warnings—publishing continues for valid points.
• Support clarified for TLS 1.2 and multiple MQTT servers.

Documentation Improvements

• Updated help system with improved layout and structure.
• New sections for endpoint configuration, appsettings.system.json, and supplemental best practices.

About Link v2.1

Although not publicly released, Link v2.1 introduced foundational enhancements for ForeSite EDGE environments:

• Bi-directional support with IoT CygNet Link EIE.
• Ad hoc logging feature for efficient diagnostics.
• Requires .NET 8.0 runtime.

Product Lifecycle Information

With the release of Link v2.2:

• Link v2.0 enters Limited Support on January 19, 2026, and reaches End of Life on January 19, 2027.
• Link v2.2 enters Limited Support on July 18, 2027.
